“Assigned female”? You mean correctly observed. For people who claim gender identity is wholly independent of sex, they sure do conflate the two a lot…
I’m not sure what the motives of all non-binary people are, but I’m not sure why a neither masculine nor feminine personality type needs its own pronouns or differentiated treatment.
There are plenty of “non-gender binary” girls that are quite clearly trying to escape the mistreatment or oversexualisation they start to experience at puberty. Not sure what the motives of non-binary males are. That said, people can have whatever labels and self-conceptualisations* they like, I just wish we didn’t have to redefine useful and grounded in material reality terms such as “man” and “woman” to validate such. Society would do better to continue to treat people in accordance with the statistical and physical realites which govern our world, and stop giving undue weight and attention to self-ID and every idiosyncratic desire of the individual.
*trans-age, trans-racial, trans-abled, trans-gender — all follow the same logic, all can only be honoured up to a point, all have little but superficialities in common with the original occupants of their group
